Water of Leith

Writer's picture: Glenn DobbsGlenn Dobbs

May 22, 2017 - We found this place by accident today. We went for a walk in our neighborhood and underneath a large bridge there was this lovely path.

It wound along ancient old mills and the river is called "Water of Leith". Like many things in this very old city it was not always so lovely. In the late 1700's this water used to have the nick name "Tumble turd".

Thankfully it is clean and well preserved today (No I didn't drink the water). It is just downstream from St Bernard's Well. A well of mineral water that was felt to have miraculous powers.

Our thoughts turn to home. Tomorrow is our last day here.

About Us

I was waiting for a baby to be born.  It was the fall of 2015 and I had been a practicing OB/GYN for over 20 years.  I could sense it was a time for change in my life.  With new insight to what was possible, we started fantasizing about what this new life could look like.  We starting to call it our “Road to Bali.”  We didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but are so glad we took the first steps into this new adventure.  We hope you enjoy coming along on our “Road to Bali.”
