Khao San Road Neighborhood

March 22, 2018 - If you have ever read any vagabond traveling stories or thought about backpacking in Thailand you will inevitably end up here. This is the Khao San Road neighborhood.

It is the epicenter of the backpacker culture in Thailand.

Mango Sticky Rice -- Quite possibly the best dessert ever

On this street you will find hostel rooms for 10 dollars a night, 2 dollar beer, great pad Thai for $1.50, numerous 3 star hotels, and endless bars.


It was finally cool outside and strolling past the lit up dives provided the ultimate in people watching.

Susan Orlean writing an essay on traveling called it “A place to disappear”.


It is easy to see why.

About Us

I was waiting for a baby to be born.  It was the fall of 2015 and I had been a practicing OB/GYN for over 20 years.  I could sense it was a time for change in my life.  With new insight to what was possible, we started fantasizing about what this new life could look like.  We starting to call it our “Road to Bali.”  We didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but are so glad we took the first steps into this new adventure.  We hope you enjoy coming along on our “Road to Bali.”
