Nyhaven Harbor in Copenhagen

July 6, 2018 - It’s 1680 and you are a sailor on some god awful ship cooped up with a lot of testosterone fueled guys and some very frightened goats. You just pulled into Nyhavn (New Harbor) Copenhagen looking to blow off steam. This is just the place for you. The harbor is lined with old warehouses, bad pubs, and endless “Houses of Pleasure”

At least that is how it started out. Today, this iconic area, after the Little Mermaid, has all but become the symbol of Copenhagen. It was wonderfully photogenic and with the sun out the colors of the old houses just pop. The painted row houses are lined with expensive restaurants and shops.

It was beautiful and the irony of what all this used to be is humorous to me.

This is the famous "Little Mermaid" from the back She is that close to shore. Over the years she has been stolen, defaced, decapitated, and generally overrated

About Us

I was waiting for a baby to be born.  It was the fall of 2015 and I had been a practicing OB/GYN for over 20 years.  I could sense it was a time for change in my life.  With new insight to what was possible, we started fantasizing about what this new life could look like.  We starting to call it our “Road to Bali.”  We didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but are so glad we took the first steps into this new adventure.  We hope you enjoy coming along on our “Road to Bali.”
