The Grave of Richard III

Writer's picture: Glenn DobbsGlenn Dobbs

May 7, 2017 - This is the tomb of Richard III. It is in Leicester England. His body had previously been missing but was found in a very small parking lot with assigned letter spaces across the street from here in 2012. He was under the letter 'R' - I am not making that up.

It is a fascinating story and I had the chance to chat with (shown above) one of his attendants for some time.

Richard died about 20 miles from here in Bosworth Field. His main army had engaged Richmond (Later King Henry VII) and he could see about 100 yards way Richmond with his banner-men relatively away from the army. He made a risky choice. He took his own banner men and simply charged Richmond hoping to suddenly overwhelm him and end the battle early.

It didn't work. He was knocked off his horse and lost his helmet. He was very vulnerable then and died shortly after. He reigned for only 777 days. --- Tomorrow we leave for York as we make our way to Scotland.

About Us

I was waiting for a baby to be born.  It was the fall of 2015 and I had been a practicing OB/GYN for over 20 years.  I could sense it was a time for change in my life.  With new insight to what was possible, we started fantasizing about what this new life could look like.  We starting to call it our “Road to Bali.”  We didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but are so glad we took the first steps into this new adventure.  We hope you enjoy coming along on our “Road to Bali.”
