‘Travel is fatal to ignorance, prejudice, and narrow mindedness ‘ - Mark Twain
The world is so very big. After traveling thousands of miles I am more aware than ever of how little I know about it. And I think that is how it should be. As we age, we begin to appreciate the mystery and paradox of life more and more. There is so much we don’t know or see and I think there is beauty in that realization.
John Dear writes, “To grow in deeper loving awareness of our sisters and brothers, the beautiful creatures, and wonders of creation, we practice the art of mindfulness. That means we try not to live in the past or stew over the future. We give ourselves to the present moment of peace and return to the gentleness of our breath as a way to return to the present moment, the eternal now”
After all of these ‘Postcard blog’ entries, Episode III of ‘The Road to Bali’ comes to a close.
Our hearts are full of gratitude as we return home.
