One of three well preserved Greek Temples in Paestum Italy

November 5, 2018 - We are on the last leg of our Almafi Coast excursion before we head back to Rome. We traveled to Paestum. We were stunned with what we found.

Three of the best preserved Greek (not Roman) temples in the world are here. There was a Greek trading colony here long before the Romans. The weather was perfect and the pictures were too good. Keep in mind these structures are 2500 years old! Rome was just being founded when they were built.

As time went on the Greeks were invaded 4 times. First by a pre Roman tribe, then by the Romans who built a garrison here. Then, malaria infected mosquitos moved in and kept.the place free of looting for 1000 years. Finally, the Allies used one of the temples as a field hospital during WWII.

It was an amazing afternoon.

About Us

I was waiting for a baby to be born.  It was the fall of 2015 and I had been a practicing OB/GYN for over 20 years.  I could sense it was a time for change in my life.  With new insight to what was possible, we started fantasizing about what this new life could look like.  We starting to call it our “Road to Bali.”  We didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but are so glad we took the first steps into this new adventure.  We hope you enjoy coming along on our “Road to Bali.”
