April 23, 2017 - Every Sunday a corner of Hyde Park hosts "Speakers Corner". It is a chance for anyone to stand on a box and talk about anything for as long as they want.
While it can attract some genuinely crazy people, most discussions are lively, respectful, and occasionally thought provoking.
Colleen and I had a chance to chat with some very fervent but nice Islamic men. It was a pleasant interchange on both sides.
While I do not share their faith I did realize that was the first prolonged conversation we have ever had with a group of Muslims. What I found was they have the same hope and dreams we do. They also abhor the violence of this world.
It was nice to find the common humanity we share.
