March 10, 2018 - Here is another look at these iconic Thai Long Tail boats as we visit Phranang Beach. Their engines all sound different because they are harvested from cars or tractors. They are built locally and have been a part of this region since the days of sail.

Daniel Allan writes- “Although long-tail boats are often referred to as 'Thai long-tails', variations on the basic design can still be found throughout Southeast Asia. What they are, however, is typically Thai. Like floating markets and tuk-tuks, they are one of those iconic things which first spring to mind when you think of Thailand. A beach in Railay or Phuket just isn't the same without a long-tail on it, especially when silhouetted at sunset."

About Us

I was waiting for a baby to be born.  It was the fall of 2015 and I had been a practicing OB/GYN for over 20 years.  I could sense it was a time for change in my life.  With new insight to what was possible, we started fantasizing about what this new life could look like.  We starting to call it our “Road to Bali.”  We didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but are so glad we took the first steps into this new adventure.  We hope you enjoy coming along on our “Road to Bali.”
