This is what it is supposed to look like

Due to the forest fires, this is what it looked like the day we visited

September 7, 2017 -

We visited Lake Louise today. The smoke from the fires continues to be the story here. The 1st picture is how it usually looks and the 2nd picture is from this afternoon.

Still, there was a grandeur about it in a post apocalyptic sense. Up close things are still quite scenic, it is the vistas that are clouded over.

Lake Louise is over 5500 feet above sea level and one of the most popular sites here mostly due to it's epic scenery. It was named after the 4th daughter of Queen Victoria. (The 3rd daughter got Denmark so she needed to find something for the 4th)

Below are pictures of just a few of the hundreds of fires up here

About Us

I was waiting for a baby to be born.  It was the fall of 2015 and I had been a practicing OB/GYN for over 20 years.  I could sense it was a time for change in my life.  With new insight to what was possible, we started fantasizing about what this new life could look like.  We starting to call it our “Road to Bali.”  We didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but are so glad we took the first steps into this new adventure.  We hope you enjoy coming along on our “Road to Bali.”
