“The continent is too large to describe. It is a veritable ocean, a separate planet, a varied, immensely rich cosmos. Only with the greatest simplification, for the sake of convenience, can we say 'Africa'. In reality, except as a geographical appellation, Africa does not exist.”
― Ryszard Kapuściński, The Cobra's Heart
Tuesday evening, February 11th - To my fellow riders on the Jungle Cruise I bring you greetings from South Africa! These wonderful people are the subject of a previous blog that you can find here.
The three of them had the chance to go on Safari in Kenya and we enjoyed their pictures and stories very much.
As we leave the bushveld I thought I would compile some of the 40+ animals we saw here in a collage to share with our old friends - (and anyone else who may want to see)
'Young Families' are missed! (Israel 2021?? !!!) Say, yes please! We are going to go. Let’s talk!
All of these pictures were shot on a iPhone using Moment lenses. Some of them are great. Some, not so much. Many times the animals were beyond the optical zoom of the camera and as a result their shots were pixilated. Other times the light was bad. And I am not Joe Konz. But, it gives you a reasonable collage of our adventures here in the bush for the last 11 days.
Here you go -
I wonder when I get home if I will stop routinely scanning trees for leopards. It’s exhausting.
