At sea

June 25, 2018 - We are at sea today so I will not have a chance to post so I will put this up tomorrow.

This trip involved a lot of travel planning since we are trying to see so many countries in the area. As mentioned yesterday, you cannot go to Russia without a very expensive Visa unless you take a ship; then you can stay only two days. We are also trying to save money so we have to take a circular route.

So Colleen managed to book this 3 masted schooner as long as I agreed to work as the Captain’s porter and be called “Gopher” for the duration of the journey.*

We were prepared for spartan quarters but after we boarded we were surprised to find the interior unusually opulent and plush.

*Ok, this is not true.

About Us

I was waiting for a baby to be born.  It was the fall of 2015 and I had been a practicing OB/GYN for over 20 years.  I could sense it was a time for change in my life.  With new insight to what was possible, we started fantasizing about what this new life could look like.  We starting to call it our “Road to Bali.”  We didn’t know exactly where it would lead, but are so glad we took the first steps into this new adventure.  We hope you enjoy coming along on our “Road to Bali.”
