We knew ahead of the time that it was a scam. A Tuk Tuk driver who spoke good english found us walking and offered us "A tour" for a reasonable price. We knew it would involve being taken to stores for a hard sell that he would get a cut of, but we didn't care. We wanted to see the sites and didn't have a better plan.
The first stop was a 500 year old Islamic stepwell. The unusual architecture has been used in several Bollywood movies.
The next stop was to see the buildings of the Indian Government. It was a foggy day so the views were limited. But these buildings were designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens for the British Viceroy at the height of British Rule here. As you can see the dimensions are huge and that was a deliberate choice. The buildings were designed to project power.
